If it bleeds, it leads (2003) is a video I made in collaboration with my father, a CBC news cameraman for 30 years. I asked my father to put himself in front of the camera, framing himself for an interview (with specific themes and questions that we had previously discussed). This experimental narrative uncovers a time of transition in news media due to new technologies while exploring the horror and the costs of needing to keep audiences entertained, alongside the personal violence experienced by our family.
